Episode 157 – Obnoxiously Prideful

In this episode – Daniel and I start off talking about the games we’ve been playing. This time it includes Daniel sharing stories about playing Carcassonne with his kids. And then I talk briefly about Guild Ball with Daniel, since he wasn’t here last time, before I talk about continuing voyages of our SeaFall game and Pit Crew.

We then move to talking about how it is our penchant to believe that we know everything there could possibly be to know on a subject with only cursory understanding of what we’re looking at. Whether it’s board games or theology – maybe we need to remember that we are not without fault.

HERE is the blog post from Ignacy reacting to folks passing judgment on games they’ve only played once.

Bonus Content – Geoff Engelstein

The board gaming community is great for a number of reasons. One of them is that all sorts of people that are big names in the industry are often also incredibly approachable and kind. So when I discovered that Geoff Engelstein, designer of games like Space Cadets, Fog of War, and Dragon & Flagon to name just a few, lived within a short drive of me, I knew I had to get him on the show. After a criminally over-long stretch of time, I finally got that interview scheduled and recorded to share with you folks.

In this episode of bonus content – we talk about the board game community, game design, and some of Geoff’s upcoming titles.
